Quick Photoshop Tutorial for Beginners

Here is an easy, step-by-step guide to using Photoshop on Windows. If you’re using a Mac, you can use the same steps, but make sure to install Photoshop and Fireworks before doing anything else. If you have Photoshop Elements, you can skip straight to Fireworks. No matter which program you decide to use, you’ll need to have a basic understanding of how to use layers and how to work with layers before you’re ready to start. It’s also a good idea to have a couple of digital cameras (preferably the Nikon Coolpix 3000 and Olympus Stylus ZOOM2) to practice on. Here’s how to use Photoshop in five easy steps:

Step 1. Create a new document

Create a new document or open an existing one by choosing File>New. Choose a size that you prefer—8 x 10 or 100 x 100 pixels is standard.

Step 2. Load an image

Let’s start out with a copy of a photo of someone’s face. Open it in Photoshop, and then load the image into the Photoshop window. Click the “Load” icon in the lower-right corner of the Photoshop window.

Step 3. Explore the interface

Now that the image has loaded, you’ll want to explore the interface.

To begin, let’s load a few photos into the Photoshop window. Add three photos: one of a flower, one of a boy, and one of a girl (see image below). (You can use any photos you want, but be sure that the colors in the photo are well-balanced. Color balance is one of the most important aspects of digital photography, so make sure the photos are well-lit and the colors are well-balanced.) The easiest way to do this is to select the flower photo, then use the Image>Image Info dialog box to display information about the photo. You’ll notice that it has information that identifies the color balance of the photo (see image below).

Once you’ve opened the image(s), you can explore the interface by using the following menu:

Image>Image Info

Image>File>Flatten Image (Make all layers visible)

Layers>Use “Layers” icon to make them visible

Stretching is a necessary part of training a dog to run. The dog stretches from its natural gait to the over-distance of what it feels comfortable running on.

So, for the dog to run the full length of its body on a treadmill, it must be lengthened.

I do it a few different ways and which one is the best is based on your specific dog.

By making sure that the dog is on a solid surface and having them be on lead, it’s best to take them out to the yard where the dog is confined to its usual running pace.

This is to give the dog the opportunity to change speeds without jumping off the treadmill. As soon as the dog jumps on the treadmill a different speed can be set which allows the dog to adjust to that change.

Once the dog is settled into the new speed, the trainer can set up a run, giving the dog the time to complete the run.

About 60 percent of training time is devoted to teaching the dog to run, with the remaining 40 percent devoted to slowing the dog down or teaching the dog to stop.

Running with a Dog

When the dog gets to the end of the run, it is instructed to look back (not yet) and to sit or lie down so that it can be handled.

Obviously, running with a young pup or dog is not the same as running with a mature adult.

Adolescent dogs tend to have longer legs which needs to be stretched to accommodate all that stride length.

This is the reason that I use a crossover to teach my dogs. A cross between a hill and a treadmill allows the dog to go longer than expected or any other device.

For a young dog, it will allow it to run until it is at a pace where it is panting. While that may be exhausting for the dog, it isn’t dangerous.

A 60- to 90-minute running session on a treadmill is a good thing for a puppy or adolescent dog.

A young dog typically doesn’t have the endurance to just sit and take it in stride.

Not all dogs should be bred to race. Dogs that are bred to run should be assigned a speed within the range of 15 to 25 mph.

Knowing Your Running Dog

Knowing how your dog runs can help determine which exercises you use to teach them.

As an example, a dog that has

I am trying to write the same file to multiple folders, this should work:

How to convert $TargetFolders to relative path and get it out to the 2 folders?

The error message is pretty clear: the path has exceeded the permissible length.
In a normal PowerShell script this would not be an issue. In a powershell script running on a job in Exchange 2013 for example, the maximum length of a path is 256 characters. You can also see this for example on this doc.
You can easily change your script to correct this issue.
$file = ‘c:\pic1.jpg’
